An easy walk, about 10 min from the area around the Igreja des Carmélites. Beautiful peaceful park with public washrooms by the dome. In January the camellias were blooming. Tulips were being planted. Peacocks wander around. Nice city views.

January is probably not the best month to visit the gardens as it doesn't offer much but the views over city are still stunning. Quiet spot if you are tired of hustle and bustle of the town.

If you have the time then this park is worth every minute you can spare. There's lots of different levels and features in the park, and the views of the river are lovely. As well as just ducks in the pond, this park has peacocks and chickens wandering around.
