I had read some very positive reviews of this market as a major tourist attraction and seen some photographs which must have been taken before the market became so run down. Like most of the centre of Porto, the market is in a poor state with a huge amount of money needed to restore the crumbling, rotting infrastructure. There aren't... More

This market is sweet but not particularly any different to other Mediterranean markets. We went on a Saturday morning when it was supposed to be at its busiest but found half the stalls unoccupied, lots of beautiful fruit & veg stalls, fishmongers and olives etc. The second floor of the market has an unfortunate view of plastic tarpaulin over everything... Perfect location for visiting Porto. Metro station close by. Supermarket on either side of the apartment which is ideal for supplies. The apartment was lovely and clean with good views. Very comfortable and directly opposite the Bolhão market which is well worth a visit for all your fresh food. The reception we got was very pleasant. Anna was a delight... More

I just love markets! No really I do... I bought some cured meat and various souvenirs at a Great and inexpensive price. If you have time to wander then this is worth time to explore.

Market with a lot of fruits, and a number of small cafes serving lunch, absolute worth visiting. But the it has to be an early lunch or breakfast, as the market closes at 1:00 PM And it is closed Sunday.

As local markets go, it's pretty interesting. Plenty of tourist tat but lots of fish, vegetable and Portugues wine stalls. Good little insight into local life. Pop in if you are passing.

Very cool market in Porto. Lots of stalls selling just about everything....seafood, flowers, meat, souvenirs. Also have places to eat packed with locals. If we hadn't already eaten we would definitely have sat down. Looked great. A fun stroll through this area. Closed on Sunday.

The building is worth a visit. I think it is good for shopping fruits and vegetables - visit also the upper floor. However, the non-food goods are mostly touristic souvenirs...

Came here with a local chef. This is an amazing place to buy anything you need that has to do with food. We also bought some pastries. Yum!!!! I would definitely come back to this place.
