Have read some disappointed revues about the place. The impression depends on what you are expecting from the place. Most probably would not suggest to visit if you are in Porto for just a day or two. But in spring time when everything is in blossom, birds are singing and sun is shining - it really is worth visiting. There... More

The gardens are pretty, however, you can only enter the park through one entrance at the top of the hill at the moment. There are plenty of benches to sit and some wildlife to look at in the park.

We visited on a warm sunny day. All the tress were coming into leaf and the dapple shade gave the whole park a romantic feel. We were treated to a spectacular display from the resident peacocks attracting their mistresses. Around the outside of the park you get some lovely views of the town and the river bridges below. Well worth... More

This park is smaller than expected and the building's exterior is in a poor state of repair. Within the gardens a miradour offers views towards the Douro river.

This rates really highly in most guide books ...but in reality it's noisey loads of school visits...very run done. Not a peaceful haven at all...the gardens are rather boring and contain very few surprises however a few interesting trees....best head on over to Serralves..not free but everything that Palacio isn't!

I found the place seriously overrated, and rather boring. You simply descent the hill in meandering paths, passing few statues, and terraces, from which you can take some good shots of Ponte Arabiada during the sunset. It takes about 1,5 to walk down through the park's niches. There are no shortcuts to the main street, so you must either go... More

We really enjoyed a trip round these gardens. There are lots of pretty areas and very good views of the river. There was a kiosk for drinks and ice creams. Loved the peacocks and the chickens. Also loved all the water features.

Wow Factor: Was visiting several Porto attractions and was skeptical about stopping here as it was a bit out of the way. It was well worth the extra steps! Unknowingly so, I wandered into a majestic space full of peacocks, roosters, ducks and ducklings; great views of the Douro and some of it's bridges; beautiful gardens; and a happy place... More

The Palacio is a centre for exhibitions, and from a tourist's perspective the gardens were more exciting. It was lovely to see the peacocks, hens, sculptures and the maze-like garden was nice to walk in. Add to that, we got a good view of the city from the top of the hill and the tram ride back to the city... More

Had a nice stay at this park during first day in Porto. Saw chickens, peacocks, and played at playground. Walked around palace while a concert was playing inside. Ice cream truck was a nice break on a sunny day.
