Areopagus hill is a great location for taking pictures of both the Acropolis and the city below it. There are two sets of stairs to the top, with one being modern and the other one being ancient. The ancient stairs have been used for a long time so the surfaces there are VERY slippery. You have to watch your step... More

The one thing that is very good in this place is that it is free and one of the best location to get a great shot of the Acropolis and the city .It is best to come here early by sunrise and sunset for great pics and the place will not be so crowded by then . The climb is... More

This hill is great for views of Athens. It's lovely throughout the day but especially during a sunset. I would recommend going up to the top of the hill. The hill is just down from the Acropolis so it's worth the extra few minutes to climb up and see the views.

Areopagus is the place where Paul the Apostle addressed the Athenians about their worship about The Unknown God. Once at the top it is easy to imagine Paul talking to the masses, a very important part of the history of Athens.

Areopagus is one of those places which is strongly connected to modern civilization. This is the place where the elders of ancient Athens gathered. You can visit this place while walking up the Acropolis hill - it has some magnificent views of the city and the Athena temple, as well as other significant locations. Sit for a while and think... It's said that here is where apostol PAul gave an speech, and also it's the place where Ares was judged, so it was the center of justice for old Athens. If you go with childrens, it might be a little dangerous since it's a little slipery and it doesn't has any borders. Also it might be a little dificcult to... More

We did a 12 hour tour of the Apostle Paul. The tour took us through the Areopagus, the original stairs are just historic to walk on. The view and understanding of the pecking order where the elite would talk and or preach is so visible. The Olive trees still give a great park like setting.

The Areopagus is an absolute must if you are visiting the Acroplolis. It lies in your path if you approach from Monastiraki or either the Roman or Ancient Agora. it offers amazing views of the Acropolis towering above it and the city of Athens below. It is the spot where St. Paul supposedly delivered his famous speech to the Athenians... More

This is one of the sacred rocks of Ancient Athens and the place where the Supreme Court was situated. It's a perfect spot to a 360 degrees view of Athens, with a very close distance to the Acropolis. A favorite place to the Atheneans and the visitors of the city as well. You just have to be careful of the... More

Small hill next to the Acropolis. Great view of Athens, Philopappos Hill and Acropolis. During winter, windy at the top.
