Not a nice neighborhood dirty at day and a little creepy at night. Not many restaurants or places for breakfast although its well communicated. We stayed at an Airbnb apartment close to it that was great, but the area is not the best.

A very busy area with the streets leading to it full of hotels, kiosks, shops, cafes and restaurants. Easy access to metro, public transportation and Hop-on-Hop-Off buses. It is not an attractive place to spend time at unless you want to get advantage of the...More

This is filthy (more filthy than the rest of Athens!), and there are young men on nearly every corner selling drugs and other contraband. The garbage is rarely collected and is strewn about the streets, and every building in the area has been valdalized. It's...More

You will not like it at all. Nothing to impress you, nothing beautiful, you just pass through and you don't want to stop so to watch or to see something. You have to be carefull on your wallet. Very carefull

There are shops and roads leading out to more interesting places. The square itself is lackluster. Be warned that Omonia likely has the highest concentration of crime. Both locals and tourists fall prey scams, pickpockets or worse.

These bad reviews are giving horror scene about Omonia square which is not true. Omonia square may not be the most pleasant place to hang out, but being in constant danger is over exaggerated. Lot of men just hanging aroud and some homeless people sleeping...More

This is the heart of the city but we were not impressed. There was always a big Police presence but this was necessary because of the drug addicts and other dubious people round and about. Crowded during the day but one should be aware of...More

I regularly stay in a hotel at Omonia, and its an atmospheric part of the city of Athens. Yes, there are pickpockets - but so does every major city. I also caught a taxi from Omonia Square to get back to the Airport for my...More

Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is
grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from
the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its
underground stalls, the square is now mostly
frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The
most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set
off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually
coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a
