So this is the athletic centre that was built especially for that great event, the Olympic Games of 2004. It's great, it's modern, it's huge - but unfortunately, the maintenance could be better. Trees that were planted then are drying out, fountains the same, only the central area around the football stadium and the basketball hall is in a really... More

An amazing 3,000+ year old structure that represents the start of something truly Global of epic proportions. How many of our modern structures would be able to withstand the test of time like this iconic moment is open to question. Enjoy this on any dry day with a blue sky in Athens.

With my first basketball-game ever. I truly enjoyed it, the people are crazy of their team-Panathinaikos. I was so touched by the people. They all became one! The minor thing is the smell of weed. But its normal, l was glad the hall was not completely full, cause the smell of weed, cigarettes, sweat would not be pleasant. Btw: Panathinaikos... More

I had the chance to see the work in progress, during the construction period of this beautiful sport center, in view of and meant for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. I had the pleasure to be one of the thousand volunteers during the Games and I was serving first in the Tennis Ceter and after in the main Stadium. What... More

You have to marvel at the sheer colossal scale of dereliction that greets you as you walk from the station across the silently decaying remains of the 2004 Olympic site. Figures whirl round in your mind as you try some initial calculations as to how much this gigantic folly has cost. Then you give up as your brain can't do... More

It would be so nice area, but it's in horrible condition in most of the areas and installments. This could be the pearl of Athens for any outdoor event or activity, or maybe markets, street food events etc. There is so much space.

The Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA ),held the summer Olympic games in 2004 in Athens. It is very beautiful place, but unfortunately there is,no capable taking care of this monument. You can find for example broken lamps, garbage. But I suggest you to visit this beautiful stadium, you won't be disappointed.

Greece is where the Olympic games began in the 11th century BC said to be a festival dedicated to the god Zeus. The Olympic stadium of 2004 was originally built in early 1980s for the European Olympic championships and was remodeled by famous architect Santiago Calatrava for 2004. It can seat around 70,000 and is now home to the major... More
