This museum was a godsend after the scorching heat of the Acropolis. The museum itself is an architectural delight and the many exhibits within it were great. It would be great to have the opportunity to revisit it again and again as there is so...More

The museum itself is a wonderful experience but the staff need a major seminar in polite manners! Photos are not allowed when worldwide most museums allow it and entrance is charged when again most national museums worldwide are free! Backminded decision makers here!

It was a nice change from all the archeological sites. The city model with videos about the important buldings is really interesting for a first time visitor. The furniture donations give it the feel of a small, modest palace. It is a really nice museum...More

This Museum presents the modern history of Athens. Your tour will also include many other facets of Athenian history, culture and life. Several collections reflect the different aspects of the city offered by the Museum.

The museum is small and limited but is definitely worth an hours visit. The huge painting by Jaques Carrey was made 13 years (1674) before the huge explosion in 1674 which did terrible damage on the top of the Acropolis. This painting over 5 m...More

The Museum was good, but unfortunately the day that we went it was very busy with school children so we were not able to really enjoy it as much as we would have liked to. I would definitely like to visit this museum again so...More

The name of this small and a bit grubby museum is entirely misleading: it gives nothing away of what is here. It's certainly not a museum of the city's history. So what is it? I'm still mystified and I'm quite a history buff. It's a...More
