Syntagma is very popular among the millions of tourist because of Parliament, Changing the Guard (each full hour) and Metro station, the start point to Shopping area.

We went there one night to see the guards exchange and it was simply boring... I guess at Sunday morning it could be better but we didn't have enough time (or patience) to go there again.

If you go to Atina you must see the change of the guards. The way they walk is intresting and different. And at the end of the ceremony, you can take photos with the guards.

We enjoyed watching the guards in their uniforms and unique marching. More entertaining than guards in London.

Best to visit in weekend to see the changing of the guards. A lot of restaurants and shops. You can sit by the fountain and feed the pigeons.

The square is a nice spot to visit and sit by the fountain or just walk through. There are plenty of restaurants around the area.

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is
Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament
building on its upper side and surrounded by other
large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande
Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia
are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like
the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia
Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,

The change happens every hour, on the hour. Ex: 1000, 1100, 1200, etc. Its best to arrive a couple of minutes before hand to get a front row seat.
