Ditto kudos and top marks for Sophia. Aside from explaining -- and stuffing us with -- fundamentals of Greek cuisine as we walked from cafe to coffee shop to market and on, she is a font of information about Greek culture and Athens life. She will try to feed each person a full portion at each stop, claiming (improbably in... More

We started at Monastotaki Square. Our tour guide, Sophia, lead us along miles of food stops, from Athen's bustling street markets, replete with savvy street vendors, to a 70 year old building that serves the region's most famous Loukoumathes (donuts). We gorged ourselves. Like starved donkeys. Everything was so good. Sophia felt like an old friend we'd chanced upon reconnected... More

Kostas was an incredible host on a spectacular food tour of Athens. He has located and patronizes very special shops, many of which are out of the way and known only by the locals. We thoroughly enjoyed eating our way through Athens, led by this most knowledgeable foodie. We couldn't eat another bite when we finished...but we would do it... More

I was travelling in Greece with a friend and we booked a private tour with Kostas. This was my first food tour and was unsure if I would enjoy it, but oh my, what an amazing experience. We had the very best of each food we tried plus we learned about the city and Greek life from Kostas as we... More

We went on walking tour with Sophia and it ended up just being me and my husband. We got to try a wide variety of food, plenty to eat. We learned alot and enjoyed ourselves. It was a cozy tour.

You must ask for Sophia! We have been in Greece for 10 days and thought we had tasted just about every Greek specialty. Then we went on the half day (morning tour is best) food tour. Sophia took us to local cafes, bakeries, gourmet shops, fish, meat, and veggie markets, and a sausage shop. She is an Athenian and really... More

We booked a private tour: Gourmet Food Walking Tour in Athens. Our guide, Eleni, was very knowledgeable and extremely nice. She showed us hidden gems of Athens culinary scene and told wonderful stories abut people and places. 4 hour flew very fast and though there were many great meals, we left with even bigger appetite for waking the city of... My seven-year-old daughter and I had a private tour of the Acropolis with Mariza. My daughter loves Greek mythology, so we wanted a tour with that focus and that would keep a child engaged. Mariza did a wonderful job of bringing the stories of the Greek gods to life. She brought special props to keep a child engaged (contests, stickers,... More

We ended up being the only two people on the tour and had a wonderful time. Sofia was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and friendly and shared so much history and culture with us throughout the tour. The tour itself was wonderful with delicious food and wine; we even had the wonderful experience of our guide preparing us a fresh... More

There were 3 of us signed up for the Athens Gourmet Tour. Sophia was our guide. She was beyond fabulous. Our tour was suppose to be 4 hours but we spent 5 hours visiting local café's, restaurants, coffee house, fish market, meat market all in the Plaka. I owned a wholesale tour operator company specializing in Europe before selling to... More
