A good museum

A decent museum with constantly changing exhibitions focused on Greek and international contemporary art, worth a visit.

It is a great Museum has a very good collection of oil paintings but the most fascinating is the Fashion collection for folkloric customs for old historical Greece and the amazing designes and patterns so artistic. So this museum must be visoted by all ages . What also impressed me there was a hall specified for the Syrian refugees to... More

We visited Benaki Museum for method abramovic, which was super interesting. I liked better the perfomarces than the main exposition. The space is very nice, modern with a cafe available for coffee, drinks and snacks. Also, there is a cute theater for concerts!

The museum was inaugurated along with the Benaki Museum of Islamic Ark by director Antonis Delivorias just in time for the 2004 Summer Olympics. Following the trend for factory-to-art-centre renovations, architects Maria Kokkinou and Andreas Kourkoulas have responded to contemporary needs with yet another successful... More

Within a beautiful Neo-classical mansion, in the neighbourhood of Kolonaki, just north of the National Gardens, you will find the Benaki Museum. It was officially, the first private museum to open within Greece, and is perhaps one of Athens’ most interesting museums. Why? From pre-history to the present, this Museum houses it all. You can see a vast, eclectic and... More

Apart from the most interesting collections that everybody can see there, there is also a beautiful and cosy cafe. The Benaki Museum is... More

We went last week (9/1/16) to visit this museum to see the photography exhibition of Vrettos about Worship in Athens amongst the different cultures now living in the city who have had to find spaces to worship in warehouses and vacant buildings as they are not allowed by the state to construct places of worship to celebrate their many different... The museum always has interesting exhibitions bur it is rather "unfriendly" to the user - it is the least intuitive museum I have ever been to: no signs, maps or information is offered and even when you ask for it, people do not seem very happy to help - especially the lady at the ticket office. She definitely needs some... More
