Always busy but the craftsman control the chaos and satisfied customers stream out of this shop. You choose the style from a menu, tell them your size, you try on a sample, pay the man and in ten minutes custom sandals that feel wonderful are...More

I bought two pairs from here, and tried on leather sandals at a bunch of other places before I did. These are high quality and much nicer than the ones I saw elsewhere. I special ordered a pair in green leather and they were ready...More

There are many stores in the Plaka shopping district that sell Greek-made sandals, but only here are they made and fitted in-house. It's located on a side street and opening hours are erratic, but it's worth it to buy here if you're in the market...More

I got two pairs of these handmade sandals and they just get better with time. I've had them for decades. Real leather lasts nearly forever.

I must say, you need an eagle's eye to spot this place and if you were not searching for it, I'm pretty sure you would do a Dion Warwick and 'walk on by.' I am really pleased with my flip flops and am looking forward...More

Summary: This place is over-rated and is a tourist trap!!! Don't buy into to it. We read all the reviews online prior to our cruise and thought it was a good spot to check out. Little did we know that it's more of a tourist...More

If you are looking to buy a good pair of quality sandals at a reasonable price, you definitely have to visit Melissinos. The store is very small and always busy. Since they fit the sandals while you wait, you must allow at least an hour.

Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide

interesting blend of original small businesses with
the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently
sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron
Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further
west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of

I sent an email to Melissinos a month ago and have not had a response. I really need to talk to someone about repairing the sandals I bought 10 months ago. How can I get in contact with the shop?

They do, but I wouldn't trust them because they order all their leather made from China!
What is your store hours? Any closing days? I'm visiting in May.
