It's tiny, and you can only go into the porch, but it is well worth taking 10 minutes to thoroughly explore - make sure you walk all round the exterior! It's a very old church (I believe 12th century) and covered in ornate and interesting...More

You can easily visit this church when you see the adjacent Metropolitan Cathedral. This is a much smaller and significantly older church, and to that extent is perhaps more interesting . Worth popping your head inside for a quick look at the ancient religious murals.

Cute little very old church located next to the giant Athens Cathedral. Worth a flying visit if you are planning on visiting the cathedral.

This is a must visit. We found this small "old" church to be fascinating. The architecture was fabulous. The details caught our eyes for quite a while.

This is overlooked generally because it sits right near the Metropolis Cathedral. It is worth a look though but for me the most interesting part was the outside walls with the animal reliefs. The church is quite historic, dating back to the 12th century but...More

An interesting contrast to its much larger and overpowering neighbour, the Metropolis Cathedral. No one is quite sure how old it is because it was build with bits and pieces of pagan temples, the marble blocks re-purposed to build a church. Well worth your time...More

This cute little church is in an east location to stop in and visit quickly. We visited on a Sunday morning and there were lots of people around, but the church itself was not busy.

This tiny church right next to the main cathedral is worth a look. As other reviewers have noted, it's historically important and artistically fascinating. Easy to include in your walk in the Plaka district.
