So this is a cute small museum that is in the hold Parliament building. And if you are interested in Greek history the building alone are pretty cool. It will only take 2 hours tops to get through it and if you go on Sunday...More

Very dull and boring museum. Go there only if you have already visited all the other museums in Athens. The building itself is nice, old parliament house.

This was one of the best museums I've ever been to, not just in Athens but anywhere. While the rest of the sites are devoted to ancient history here you will learn about Greece's independence movements and much more. The old parliament room is worth...More

A must-see if you want to know more about how modern Greece came to be. It could do with a little bit more organisation, or description in chronological order - I did get a bit confused - and I'm not sure the inside of doorframes...More

This relatively small museum can almost be overlooked if you don't know its address; and that would be a shame, because it houses some really interesting exhibits - not from the ancient days, but from the Byzantine era and most of all more recent Greek...More

Last day, last museum. The interior of the old parliament looked interesting but couldn't get in there as they were filming. Lots of the usual museum stuff but I have to say their collection of ship figureheads were great, best thing in the museum.

This museum was less attractive than expected. Well located in Athens center but old, not well maintained and with quite poor planning of the exhibition. Needs an urgent face lift!!

We spent most of our time in Greece in museums and sites which were dedicated to Ancient Greece. It was good to be able to learn about recent Greek history and the formation of the modern Greek government. The museum (in the old parliament building...More

This is a nice museum if you want to know who was who in the Greek Independence war of 1821, because it displays portraits of all the leaders that helped, led and supported the revolutionary war. Suitable for kids who have knowledge of the Greek...More

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is
Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament
building on its upper side and surrounded by other
large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande
Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia
are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like
the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia
Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,
