The ruins are preserved, and the setting of the mountains makes it perfect. There are explanatory signs all around the site, but there are no maps to be found. We recommend Lonely Planet and Wikipedia for orientation and enrichment. The museum completes the visit nicely. As many tourist attractions, it's less crowded early in the morning (and you're less likely... More

History and scenery are combined to make for an amazing place. It is well worth the 3 hour drive from Athens to see Delphi.

Very interesting place to visit. A fair amount of walking required, but paths are well maintained. Staff are placed at regular intervals to make sure - correctly in my opinion - that people do not stray where they shouldn't. Amazing experience that everyone should strive to visit.

Took a day trip from Athens to Delphi, great trip back in Greek lore, looking at the Oracle and the ruins are unsurpassed...I took many photos of this ancient city as it will go fown as a fantastic day.

We were not suposed to be in Delphes that night but it was a really nice surprise, the road to get to Delpges is wonderful in the mountain. And the temple of Apollon is quite impressive. The people in there were very kindly Furthermore it's free for the students.

Two easy hours from Athens, this is a must visit for all - Greeks and foreign visitors alike. The topography of the place is breathtaking - a unique Mediterranean landscape located on the dramatic slopes of mythical Mount Parnassus, an untouched valley of olive trees interrupted occasionally by cypress trees, and at the end of this valley the Gulf of... There is only a little walking involved (you can spend fifteen minutes climbing to the top of the site to get to the stadium) but every step is worthwhile. Looking out over these ruins over the valley, to Mount Parnassus and the bay of Corinth is breathtaking.

After a disappointing visit to the Acropolis the day before my husband and I were wondering if the visit to Delphi would be worth the extra work & cost of hiring a car to get here as there would be no public transportation on Easter Sunday. Despite the midday sun and the large number of tourists we were both enchanted... More

We were a bit disappointed that they were still on winter hours, and the fees weren't very clear. The museum is pretty cool and very well done.
