The old harbor is a pure gem!! Try to walk all around (till the lighthouse, if possible..) and also to the picturesque narrow alleys..Don't miss a view from the Kastelli hill down to the harbor, and from the lighthouse to the view with the White mountains!!

Chania is a picturesque town with winding allys and a scenic waterfront harbor. It is a great place to sit on a bench or at the numerous restaurants to watch the tourists and locals who come to enjoy the sea. It is about a 15 minute leisurely walk from the covered market/bus stop. It is worth the walk for the... More

Caught the bus in from the cruise terminal and spent a while walking around the town before strolling around the harbour to the lighthouse. On the way back, stopped off at one of the many bars/restaurants for a relaxing beer in the late morning warmth.

Chania was the best city I visited while in Crete and this harbor just adds to the city. It gives you an opportunity to walk along the water, head out to the light house and see the city from the water. Definitely worth a walk by the water.

Even with dark colours, equally fascinating and invigorating. The seagulls, the dark aegean blue, some salesmen, pedestrians and the carriage to give the tone, make a really joyful scenery along with the cafes serving hot cold and raki, to rule them all!

A nice place to walk. The only bad thing are the flocks of tourists specially evening time. But if you manage with that you have a lot of nice restaurants and small shops in the neighbourhood to visit. If you come by car there are parking areas around and near the old town.

Loved this area of the city, such great views of the sea and the lighthouse. Take a stroll along the harbor and then sit at one of the many cafes and restaurants and enjoy the beautiful views.

Chania was a stop on our cruise. It is a lovely town to walk about and enjoy breathtaking views of the Harbor. If you are familiar with Venice you will understand why this site is named similarly.
