Here is the perfect place to shop for gifts and souvenirs to take back home! The various ventors are selling everything, from delicious greek products like loukoumia, nuts, spices mix for cooking, olive oil to handmade soaps, souvenirs and various crafts. Had a nice time walking around exploring the shops and choosing gifts to take back home.

This was the last stop on a shore excursion that we booked. If you are on a cruise and do not want to book an excursion you can easily take a bus to and from the port for a few euro. We had a very enjoyable time at the market shopping for Greek merchandise. At the market you can buy... More

Agora market is in the border line between the old and the new city of Chania. It has mainly food products (Cheese especialy) Soaps, Olive oil and olive oil products and some nice bakeries and other shops. I would definetly go to try and buy some of the local kinds of chees which are very good and sold in reasonable... More

The market offers food and souvenirs. It is based on local production: olive oil, olive soaps, Crete famous cheese and honey. My favorite shop is the bakery in the entrance, selling Crete breads and cakes. It is a great place to visit before you go home. I bought soaps and honey and olive oil.

Love this market for the cheeses, nuts and olive oils. Great Raki seller near entrance (one of them) of the market. Local distiller and sells from the barrel. You have to ignore all the tourist stuff and focus on the food!

What a wonderful way to spend the day..First go through the market and seek out the wonderful foods available, fresh cheeses and fish items..as well as lots of "touristy" stuff..then walk down through the streets of individual shops loaded with Raki and other alcohol specialties, clothing, jewelry, shoes, fine linens, souvenirs, you name it!! Get tired? Stop at any of... More

There are a couple of stalls selling nice fresh fish, one selling vegetables and fruit and a couple selling deli items but the rest is just the usual tourist stuff.

We went in expecting to see something different to all the little markets on the lanes, but to be honest it was much the same, for a similar price. There is food for sale, which does make it differ (if you're vegetarian, you might want to avoid those aisles...). That said it's still really charming, and a great spot to... More

Excellent market featuring all things Cretan, also has many small eating places that are far better than you can imagine from a market place. Very cheap and lots and lots of variety. Also great just to buy some bread, deli food and sweets and just pop over to the park a block away and enjoy under a shaded tree with... More
