One of our first stops on Heraklion, very easily found. This castle has a rich history nicely explained inside the castle. The castle has an entrance fee of 2 euros if I remember correctly. Required visiting time is up to a max of 2 hours....More

Can’t complain, cheap to look around a nice piece of history in a pretty run down city! Definitely worth a visit. Lovely views from the top.

This is a well preserved fortress that has been restored. €2 was a bargain to get inside. In the caverns below there were some good information written in Greek and English about the great siege. Also a canon ball repository and some canons. Up top...More

Interesting old castle. Very cheap entrance fee, 2 euros. Lots of cannons and cannon balls. Very ancient amphoras.
