First week of september. Meltemi so a lot of wind but just bearable. Pretty quiet this day because no hourly boat. Only about 15 persons and most were naturist.
.
There are no facilities of any kind, nor is there any shade. Do come prepared with suncreme, food, water, umbrella and whatever else you may need.

Perhaps seeing it under ideal circumstances, August but with low numbers... Pretty quiet, just the flow of people coming/going from the hourly boat and a steady trickle of those braving the walk down the hillside/cliff.
Water was very clean and clear and the beach is coarse sand / gravel. The sea is cool, something I prefer and there is a warning sign regarding strong currents.
There's a regular naturist presence at the left hand end of the beach (if facing the sea). All seem to cohabit quite happily.

We visited this beach twice in our week stay - as other reviews have said access is by boat or walk ( we had a car so did the later ) , walk is 20-30 minutes and only tricky at the end ( steep and a bit loose in places ) . Top end of the beach is nude and much quieter than the end where the “ cheat boat” arrives lol .
There’s some varying fish to see if you fancy a snorkel , it’s a totally unserviced beach so take plenty of water .

We had a rental Car so hiked in. It takes about 45-50 minutes each way. There is a water taxi that can take you also. Bring your umbrellas, water, beer and food because there are no services. Water is crystal clear and wonderful.
The beach was pretty empty when we wete there. Check the water taxi schedule and go before or after. There were only a few dropped off when we were there. Not a deterrent at all.

There are 2 ways to get to Katergo beach, either on foot or by boat. We took the boat since on foot is a long way, about 20' walk and it was great! The boat fee is small and it's one ticket back and forth, while children pay half the price. The beach is wonderful, blue waters and all and you can explore the rocks at the end of the beach. The boat comes every hour and you can stay as many hours as you like, you don't pay more for the trip back.

Beautiful beach, pure nature, very clean and crystal waters, get your umbrella, hat, water and enjoy the sun! Reachable by boat.

We had to take a boat to access that beach. The boat ride was wild and windy. When you get there it is beautiful but water has strong current. The beach was crowded and there is not any shade to protect from the sun.

My favourite beach in Folegandros! I was stunned by the colour of the waters, absolutely clear in a turquoise shade. It's an isolated beach that you can get to by boat from the port in Karavostasis area and it's definitely worth visiting. There's no shade or cafes so go prepared. I'd recommend it for sure.

This beach is secluded, sandy, and has a stronger current than most of the others. You can reach it by boat from Karavostasis or on a daylong boat tour. There is also apparently a long hike to this beach. No facilities, so bring water, food, etc.

We visited most of the beaches and Katergo seemed the longest. We really enjoyed that one despite the windy weather!
