So glad we decided to do a 3hr trip at 11am from the old port of Fira. It was so good. A ride on sailing ship, Swimming in the hot springs (I didn't do, but husband did). Good views of Santorini. Then a walk up...More

The volcano consists from two islands. “New kameni” and “old kameni”. The interesting thing about the trip in the volcano is that in the first glance there aren’t much things to see. But there is a great opportunity to think all the history, the violent...More

If you have a few hours to spend it's worth a look but it's made out to be more than it is. The boats more about 50/100m from the volcanic spas so you have to swim and then have about 15 minutes there to bathe...More

If you enjoy a long hike, can stand the heat, have good sneakers, do not have knee issues and love taking photos then you will love it. I must say it not an easy location to access but the scenery and the views are more...More

This volcano does not look like what I thought a volcano would look like, and it is not very active, so you should lower your expectations. If you are lucky, you might smell some sulphur. We did also see a 1m x 2m white area...More

It was not as spectacular as I have imagined it to be. Pretty much a lot of black rocks to be honest. But if you grab a stone, under it you could feel the warmth and then realize that you are on an active volcano....More

This was really cool! Walk the rocky paths, smell the sulfur, see the vapors. I don't get to see a volcano daily so this was cool. Learn the history and take in the views. Imagine what was once there and enjoy the beautiful caldera. Fun...More

Perhaps there's something inherently dangerous or alluring involved in slogging through dust and debris toward the volcano's mouth--here a general, barely perceptible depression, but I wouldn't recommend it during the summer or day in any case--there are way more beautiful and inspiring sights on Santorini!

Definitely not for those out of shape. If it is too windy the climb will be canceled. Fortunately, the day before I visited the volcano the tour was canceled but not for my group, so I was lucky. I would recommend hiking boots and a...More

I agree with kcarters. It's not an easy climb at times and the footing is always unstable, so I'd advise that you leave it for another visit. The view is amazing but not worth the danger for you

You don't have to be strong but definitely steady. The boats moor about 100-150m away (they are generally too big to get in closer) so you have to be capable of making the swim there and back. If you have coloured hair don't... More
