Situated at the top of the Profitis Ilias (highest peak of Thira), with military object (radar) nearby, early spring garden behind the high wall looks good. Unfortunately monastery is closed untill April.

We stopped at the montastery during our half-day tour of Santorini Island. Our guide loved the history behind the small church and invited us to see the rich culture that lives within the small walls. The atmosphere inside the montastery was very quiet and peaceful. The artwork inside has been beautifully preserved. It was neat to see the cultural aspects... More

Even on a day of pouring rain, the view was superb!!!!! I would say this is the main draw to this monastery. The monastery is very small with beautiful mosaics, murals and rock work. You don't need a lot of time to walk through and enjoy the craftsmanship and story of Elias the Profit. They have many old books here... More

At the highest point of Santorini, amazing views along the way. Inside the chapel the atmosphere was calm and cooling, a visit well worth the climb.

We went as a private minibus tour. The driver was really professional and drove us very well. This is the highlight of Santorini and is the highest point of the all island. The view is absolutely unique and gorgeous. The gift shop sells wine and local products made by monkey from monastery.
