This is quite a small museum spread over 2 buildings, a new and an old. However it has an amazing collection - the best things are the griffin heads in the old building and a huge statue in the new building. It is very well...More

The advantage of a small museum is that you have plenty of time to view the whole collection and then go around again for a closer inspection of the highlights, and there are lots of those here. Whilst most visitors probably come to see the...More

Great place - €4 for an hour or so of looking at ancient history. Wouldn't recommend taking small children as this is not an interactive museum and very quiet when you're inside.

This museum was a little old-fashioned and static, but had a good many interesting small finds from Samos' storied ancient history. The gigantic kouros (Archaic nude male youths) was the highlight of the museum and worth a visit purely on its own. You can spend...More

Tickets are cheap so we decided to check this out. It's a small museum, but there's lots to see. Seeing the Kouros in person is impressive. Would recommend but nothing exceptional and of great value in archeological sense.

The museum is accessible with a 5 min walk from the free parking space on the boulevard of Vathy, through a beautiful garden. Price is €3 per person. The museum is not that large, but it has a lot of interesting small objects and a...More

Perhaps no museum has the size and quality of the collections at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. But this one is superior in interpretation of their noteworthy collections. This small, unpretentious museum is not even well marked. You can see it in an hour...More

Came to Samos on a day trip from Kusadasi. Spent a nice hour or so at the Museum. It's not very big but packs in a lot of interesting stuff, and only cost a few Euros.
