The neighbourhood is pretty but the free park resembles a squatters camp. It's not something worth seeing to be honest

I loved it here, but I was here with friends whom I love. It's a nice place to just walk around. there are many little bars and cafes to hang out in.

Colourful in many ways and It is a bit of a strange hippy neighbor hood of ..where we were treated by a guy swimming naked in the canal.

Nice part along the water canal. Colorful buildings, some inviting restaurants, picturesque site for a nice walk... And not far from the town center

Christianshavn is one of the parts of the city that you will sail through if you take the canal tour from Nyhavn, but it is well worth visiting on its own merit. Yes, in the small square by the Metro there is always a group of drunks singing and shouting in a friendly manner to each other, but away from... More

If you have been to Amsterdam, you'll be reminded of it. This one's a lot cleaner, pleasant in-spite of it being touristy. The houses are still well-preserved!

I visited on New Year's Day. It is very beautiful. Smaller and quieter than Nyhaven with a more local feel to it. You can walk to Nyhavn from here. It is really pretty and worth the walk. Less of a tourist trap than Nyhavn with a friendly vibe. Really clean and well-designed.

Staying in Christianshavn

Neighbourhood Profile
Christianshavn
Just across one of the many bridges from Indre By, you’ll find Christianshavn. An eclectic area with old brick lanes, houses dating back to the 16th century, and canals which are home to many boats and ships, some of which has been turned into restaurants or even serve as fully furnished homes. The best known attraction in Chistianshavn is Christiania, a “free town” of residents who squat on a former military area. However just a stone’s throw away from Christiania, you’ll find some of the most fashionable waterfront apartment buildings in Copenhagen as well as the splendid Royal Opera House.
