You can walk out to the zoo from the centre of Copenhagen or catch the 6A bus, either way, it's worth the trip. This is only a small zoo, we easily went round it in a couple of hours. The animals all looked healthy and happy, and quite a few had young.

We were pleasantly surprised at how good this zoo is. Most of the animals are out in the "wild" not in cages. The selection of animals is amazing good. Giraffes, Hippos, Lions, Tigers, Rhinos, Cheetahs, Wolves etc. etc. The zoo also goes under the main road and on the other side there is a petting zoo. We didn't try any... More

Haven`t been to a small city zoo before but loved how it took just a couple of hours to explore the whole thing. Very tidy, and one of the best parts was that you felt so close to the animals! The polar bears were so impressive - the lions too - and other animals like the penguins and kangaroos were... More

I was surprised when I visited this Zoo. In other Zoos around the world I have seen lazy animals that are never moving around. This place the animals are active and you can really enjoy them fully when they are moving about. Make sure to visit when it is dry and not too cold as you will be doing a... More

Went with my girlfriend and really enjoyed it. The weather wasn't perfect (October) however that didn't ruin the experience. A lot of the enclosures have indoor parts so you can keep yourself warm. Feeding times are always the best with animals such as the polar bear, lions and tigers (cubs too!!) A lot of the enclosures are really well maintained... More

This is definately one of the better zoo's I have been to. The handling of animals are in top and very good conditions are provided for all species. There has been a constant development in the latest years, and now most of the main attractions has been modernised. The food available is so so and quite expensive, so bring your... More

Staying in Frederiksberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Frederiksberg
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.
