We visited as we were passing by. The church has a very pretty altar and a spectacular organ, which was being played. There are music recitals held here - check the chalk board outside for details. There is a quiet chapel with candles for private prayer. Leaflets can be purchased in a range of languages.

The Church of the Holy Ghost stands on a site it originally occupied as a Monastery since 1296. It received Papal recognition in 1474 when King Kristiern I visited Rome. The Church was gutted by the great fire of Copenhagen in 1728, however opened four years later in 1732. The altar in impressive -depicting the Ascension of Christ. It was... More

This church is located along the main shopping street named Stroeget and located in the old Medieval area. It has one of the largest organs in Scandinavia and the facade of the organ dates from 1879. The church began as a Hospital Church in 1296. It then moved on to become an Abbey under the Popes and the Roman Catholic... More

We were lucky to get inside and listen to the live organ music. That was amazing! Also it's a very beautiful building too.

Lovely church in the middle of the pedestrian area of Copenhagen. Forget the shops and the people for five minutes and go in, sit down and let peace enter your mind.

We were on a Viking Ocean cruise and took an included tour of town. Of course we've seen many churches, but this was so beautiful. Worth the tour.

I was in the area walking to a bus tour and saw this church. It's old and the architecture is very interesting. It only takes a couple minutes to look at and is worth the time if you like old churches.

You will find this church while going around. Nice and tipically danish, it's really charming above all in the facede.

This church was first built as a hospital in 1295, then expanded to include a monastery in 1474. The west wing of the church is the city's only preserved medieval building.

The church is set just back from the main shopping street so easily accessible. We were walking towards the harbour area where I had planned on popping the question and my partner had noticed the beautiful Christmas trees outside the front of the entrance to the church so wanted to walk over and take a picture. There was a gentleman... More
