The king of Denmark (and the only king of Iceland) ruled from 1912 to 1947. He was known as an authoritative ruler, with no great sense for democracy, but won the hearts of his nation during the German occupation and soon became the symbol of resistance.

It's not a bad statue. And it's really big and tall. It sits at the end of a park with a cool old church nearby. But it's just a statue. And there is no sign to say why it's there.

Nothing quite special but a Stu at the front of a garden. It is still a great photo PPP for tourist in front of it. By the way, it was under construction when we visit in October.

The statue in itself is good, but its location is so far from many attractions that it needs some walking. I wonder why did they not place it among the walking street statues ! The statue also has much of historic significance to the king who led the resistance to occupation.

This is one of so many statues in Copenhagen. Interesting?..... not for everyone. So it's not a "must" seeing thing. The small park behind this statue is nice place to take a rest after half day walking around.

A lovely statue of Christian X stands in Sankt Annæ plads. Christian X was a beloved Danish king during the first half of the 20th century. He was especially known for his resistance to German occupation during WWII and for helping to finance the escape of Danish Jews to Sweden when the Nazis came for them.
