This simple old Lutheran Church sits on the grounds of the Citadel. It was designed for the military with plenty of pew space to accommodate gear and uniforms. Additionally, in its history, it held a jail holding area with access to a window in the...More

This is the church inside the army barracks. The building is old and has a great look, a very grand open garden in front of the church too. If you want to know more about the actual army barracks itself, look up "Kastellet" for reviews...More

While we were around the Kastellet and in this military Castle itself with all these military barracks, we paid attention on this Baroque church, that is, the Kastelskirken. Sometime, the parts of this sanctuary have been used as prison for state prisoners. Nowadays, it is...More

We came upon this area after visiting the Little Mermaid. Took some lovely pictures before entering each gate. There is a beautiful church, weeping willows, reflection upon water etc.. just beyond the gate over the bridge that makes a lovely picture from the knoll.

This is a nice spot inside the old fort. The whole area in the old fort and all around it is and amazing thing to have so near a city center. Worth a look, but worth more time in the area.

A modest church located at the Kastellet, built in the early 18th century. It is a nice sight with a great walk, quiet and peaceful.

Well worth visiting just to absorb the scale of the place. The earth walls and ramparts are impressive and a raised bronze (?) wall plaque inside the main entrance on the left wall shows how the very particular complex star shape of the whole site...More

the Citadel is from 1668 and a remarkable part of Copenhagen with its walls and ramparts and old Buildings including a mill and the old prison behind the church. There is a good view of the harbour from the ramparts

This is a lovely little church, located inside the citadel. While the church was not open for visitors while we were there, we did manage to peek into it. All in all, it's a simple church and a lovely building to match.
