A stunning setting. Take the walk up the hill for a great view of the cliffs. Bring a picnic with you and you'll really enjoy it. The cliffs are very spectacular.

We were shopping in Donegal Town when a clerk in a store suggested we go down the road to Slieve League. It was quiet out of way but well worth it. The sun was beating down on us (28 degrees!) and we actually got a...More

My husband and I drove up to the top. Open the gate, close the gate behind you and drive on up. The road is not as perilous as some folks have described. You can park and walk to the top if you choose. And once...More

Parked in lower carpark (would encourage people who may struggle with walking to continue by car/ bus to parking area closer to cliffs). Fabulous viewing area with an option to continue walking uphill which we did. Refreshments available i.e tea/coffee & minerals together with a...More

Highest sea cliffs in Europe. Quite a bit away from the usual Irish tourist trail but well worth a visit. Breathtaking views and a great hike. Yummy lobster rolls available at the car park before the hike

These cliffs are worth the drive on the narrow backroads. You can just open the gate and drive right up to the top. Much, much, less crowded than the Cliffs of Moher. No tour buses and no charge and they are higher and just as...More

More crowded than when we first visited but still not overrun. Limited parking at the top, but plenty before the lower gate. Always a spectacular experience! Great views at the top and lots of photo ops.

Well worth the drive. If you like to walk across the mountain, you need a couple of hours to trek up to the top. Leading from the car park there is a gate. I recommend opening the gate and driving up as far as you...More

You can probably do it from Donegal. That is a large enough town to base from, while still being small. We stopped in Killybegs, which is between Donegal and Slieve League, and we were able to do both from there.

Yes, you should drive up to the second car park. Very safe drive up there and nothing to fear.
