Excited to get a insight to Swedish railway history compared to the Norwegian one since much of Norwegian equipment came from Sweden.

Typical railroad museum, lots of locomotives and wagons from different times. Most steam powered, some very impressive. Also nice collection of miniature models. Definately worth a visit if you're into steam.

Depends where you are starting in Norway. Swedish Railways website has a 'journey planner' that might help. Also try the Man in Seat 61. I think there will also be a 'journey planner' on Norwegian Railways. Good luck.

There is a small train that runs from Gavle train station to the museum. Just ask at the station, they are very helpful.
