Djurgarden is a really great area to visit. I believe it means animal park and apparently there are animals such as deer in the park - but we did not see any on our visit. The walk starts with he water to your left and eventually the trail brings you into the centre of the park. The walk is not... More

Being built on an archipelago gives Stockholm such an advantage as a city. We discovered Djurgarden a little too late to fully appreciate its beauty. However, we saw enough of it to convince us to come back to Stockholm in summer. It is amazing to see this massive park following the waterways with rowing boats moored along its banks. We... More

You learn relatively quickly that Stockholm is greener than most cities, protected by years and years of preservation action. Nestled on its own island, you will find the vast and beautiful Djugarden park. This green-scape is jam-packed with cafes, museums, and wildlife that either overlook serene marinas of the Baltic or are nestled in between beautifully dense nature. Here you... More

This was an amazing treat, I had some extra time, the sun had just broken through the clouds and the lighting was sensational. The gardens make up the island. In addition to these beautiful grounds that straddle the harbor, there are numerous buildings, museums, galleries monument and even an amusement park. This was a play ground for the early royals... Unexpected piece of beautiful nature in the centre of Stockholm. Restaurants and cafes with splendid view and atmosphere. Yes a lot of people in her high season, but remember to explore it from the opposite side too crossing one of the the lovely bridges. Worth visiting if you're tired of city's crowds.

How Stockholm could be Stockholm without Djurgarden? The wide parc is enjoyable at anytime to have a walk, do sport, cycling and so on. You might have a chance to meet some deers as well!

Nice park and gardens next to the lake with a number of unusual buildings now used as restaurants . There is a funicular railway to take you up the hill if you want to use it check the opening hours as we saw its final journey of the day at 5pm
