If you are travelling in Sweden during the "low season", please check dates and times for museums and other historical locations. Enjoyed the history and the architecture of a castle that was built and remodeled over several generations. Walk the ramparts, stand on the foundations, enjoy the beauty of this castle. Whether walking inside/through the castle or on either side... More

This old (16th century) castle ruin on the river is a wonderful place to stroll. Two great museums worth visiting. A really nice coffe area is open in the summer.

An awesome and relaxing town, perfect for a few days without stress, away from problems. Just beautiful, we can see people take csre of the city. Is well managed, the castle is amazing with great views.

After a nice walk around the Heart and Loungroad we went into the Castle. Nice. If you ever come to Nyköping - walk in.

Took the kids here quiet a few times. There is plenty to see. Guided trips can be arranged and what we saw could be held in English or Swedish ... Good history tour explaining the ins and outs of Nyköping. Nice displays of the usual stuff, armoury , clothing ... Not bad for an afternoon when there is little to... More

When we came to Stockholm Skavsta airport we saw that almost all the people immediately get the bus to Stockholm and leave. But Nykoping is a must visit place if you fly to Stockholm Skavsta. What we liked most is the caste with museum. The entrance is free! Just imagine! That was a very pleasant surprise for us. And the... More

It was not season to come in, but we enjoyed the look of it outside. Nice architecture, so you can feel like you are in the 14 centuary. And River Nyköpingsån, which located infront of castle, may not look that big, but it definitely can impress! You can just stand near it and admire it's boiling stream for a long... More

This is a small attraction, which will only take up a maximum of one hour. Very accessible display, with dressing up clothes and hats representing the history that makes some good photo opportunities.

We visited this Castle, staying locally . it is only a short walk from the Town and the Harbour. We went on a Saturday morning and whilst you can walk round most of the Castle grounds and some of the ramparts, the rest was shut, not sure if this was the time of year, or that anything inside is now... It was nice to visit this old castle , they had an exhibition when we went which was nice to see and the views around the castle are nice and green . It's interesting to walk around the grounds which holds so much Swedish history .. There are nice trees with benches to sit on and relax and look at... More
