Check out the cafe for lunch, then have a walk around.

Unfortunately, the history exposition was under construction. the rest of museum was quite ok. The building of museum was great and the restaurant looked very fashionable but traditional as well.

My family of four Swedish-American teenagers and I had a marvelous time at the Varmlands Museum in Karlstad, Sweden. You have to pay for parking and the signs are all in Swedish, so be sure to ask someone for help if you don't understand. (I learned my lesson from a ticket I got earlier at a hotel!) Out front is... I've been to Varmlands Museum several times. Not only because I lived in Karlstad but also, it is a great place to take visitors. They usually have great exhibitions on and don't miss the wonderful lunch buffet as well with classic swedish foods.

Well, visting a town and a county full of old storeis you should not miss the county museum. Often good exibithions on all kinds of srtistic topics. A permament show for history buffs and children. Nice park around it for a summer stroll. Like paintings, photo, the mystery of Wermland. This is the place.

On our visit we found that the main exhibition was closed for refurbishment. However, there was a great exhibition of photography by Dennis Hopper, which was well worth the admission fee. The museum's buildings are fascinating, and it has a great gift shop and cafe. The location, in a lovely riverside park, is great, too.

We went to Karlstad in Sweden just to visit the exhibition of photographi by the actor Dennis Hopper. The photos were taken in between 1960-1967. Very interesting! I do recommend! There is a side exhibition for children with playing activities that is a lot of fun!

I was looking for historical info, but it was closed at this time. I did buy several items in the gift shop and the clerk was more than helpful with information where I might find the info I was looking for.

A nice museum, a nice shop and café. We arrived on a sunny day and were warmly welcomed by the receptionist. Please note that it's a modern museum with variable exhibitions. They're not always y'r cup of tea
