Walking through and around the fortress was great fun. The fortress is on the coastline with a view of a small island nearby with a small house and outbuildings. It looks like a great place to get into the water during summer. The walls and...More

The fortress is really huge and you can easily imagine how heavily armed it used to be. You can walk around it freely and it offers a tremendous view.

I walked around the outside of the fortress where you can get a really great view of the town and the sea. I also walked into the courtyard for free. There is a café/restaurant nearby, and it is also located really close to the beach.

It’s a beautiful view walking around the grounds of the fort, and it’s free. The museum is small and unfortunately all written information is in Swedish. You can talk audio tours in other languages but the entrance fee is already pretty steep for a small...More

This fort museum is very well kept. Very good exhibition. Unfortunately not so much in English. Large are to walk around.

It is maybe not expected to find something special in a smaller city like Varberg. However, here you can find one of the oldest men in Sweden. Not much left, but he has been reconstructed, and his cloths are still rather intact after hundreds of...More

Bockstenmannen is really nice, but that is pretty much it for the museum. Most of the castle can be visited without paying the entrance, so just do that. From the top there is a good view of the town and beach. The museum has chosen...More

I have spent a lot of time in Varberg and I have visited the old museum quite a few times as a child and as an adult however this was the first time since the refurbishment. I think the entrance fee is quite important, 100...More

The fasting itself (apart from the museum) was closed, so don't expect to be able to look inside but you can take a walk around. It was very windy when we were there, so be prepared. The museum requires an entry fee. It is interesting,...More
