We visited this museum in March 2016. The permanent exhibition is small but there are always temporary exhibits. The museum is focusing on the history of the region, a story of power as Halland is at the connections of three kingdoms on the middle ages....More

Mycket Intressant rundvandring i fästningen med guide. Fästningen ligger centralt naturskönt vid havet i denna lilla fina stad Varberg, bra med restauranger och badstränder längs kusten. Interesting tour of the fortress with guide. The fortress is situated beautifully situated by the sea. See the Bockstensman....More

Varbergs Fästning is a monument in the lovely town Varberg. You can take a walk all around the buildings, having gorgious views over the sea and the town of Varberg. Visiting the museum inside the fortress is worthwhile! You have to pay entrance.

A very wide museum. Meaning you have a bit of everything here. Tales about the history, landscape and the people. But the gem is of course the Bockstensmannen remains. The remains where found in the bog 80 years ago and was from a man that...More

I grew up in this town and was actually a guide at the fortress during my high school years. The museum then was "squeezed in" and really not accessible for people with handicaps. They renovated it and reopened last year. And apparently took the opportunity...More
