We followed the signs form Siida the Sami museum to the car park along a dirt track, around 6km. Parked the car and followed the red markers. The path was clear with lots of tree roots, large stones and board walks to travel over bog...More

Loved this walk to the church, not easy in terms of the roots and stones underfoot but beautiful through the woods and lakes to the church. At the church there are toilets and huts where you can light a fire and make a cup of...More

I came here looking for information about the hike, but I didn't find much so I decided to submit my own experience. This is a lovely little walk in nice easy terrain, and the entire trip took exactly 2 hours and 50 minutes (including a...More

We hiked out to the church on an unusually warm day and reached the church just before lunch. A fantastic place in the middle of the wilderness. Well worth a visit.

Situated about 8 km NNE from Inari village we reached the church after a nice adventurous trip by snowmobile through snowy forest and over icy lakes. Although a simple construction it is still impressive. If - like us - you visit the church in winter,...More

it's a really lovely walk to the church (4.5km one way). turn left at the crossroad, this is a little confusing, but just follow the red sticks.

Fantastic little church and a great walk to get there. Really nice place for a picnic with covered fire pit if it's a cold day. You can shorten the walk from Siida by taking your car to a car park which is a little nearr....More

Prepare for a long walk through woodlands with a scattering of lakes with crystal clear water. You can drink the water, it's that pure. Halfway you'll find a picnic area with compost toilet facilities. The route to the Wilderness Church is well sigh posted, and...More

A 250 year old church , still in use, but only for special events. Very austere, but interesting because of it's age. I believe it is accessible only by sled , snowmobile, or on foot.

What a beautiful justice church. The simplicity really spoke to the beauty of the surroundings. I can well imagine a perfect winter wedding.

We arrived on our snow mobiles and one or two of us floundered happily in the deep snow as soon as we disembarked..Our guide told us a lot about the Church. It seemed a holy place, surrounded by the quiet forests............
