This is a great market to wonder around and learn about Helsinki. Shoppers are very helpful and you can find fresh fruits, hot food and lots of relatively cheap souvenirs.

We bought some fish dish and soup. All pretty good. You can also find fruit, vegtable and local products. Fun to check every item out in the market and talking to friendly people.

A large local market, full of stalls selling everything you need, fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. The stalls are well presented and its hard not to buy produce.

All this could be avoided if only TA would accept my suggestion of listing "Kauppatori" (the famous market) as "Kauppatori (Market Square)". They seem to have turned down my request for them to do so. People see the listing... More

market has about 10 stalls and that is that. You need to go to the Kauppatori Market, not this one. On the other hand, the Market Hall at Hakaniemi is better (cheaper and better quality goods and stalls) than the Vanha... More
