Go early in the morning to the market place Kauppatori! Taste strawberries, Finnish ones. Most of the berries sold in May and are inported. The Finnish strawberry period starts in Late June. Kauppatori is also a good place to have a coffee and a munkki...More

In the Open Air Market there are stands that sell food, Finnish handcraft (jewelry, leather, clothing, carved items...) and souvenirs. You will find tents to buy and eat your lunch or a snack.

Sort of interesting marketplace with many stalls selling local foods and souvenir. Also a famous tourist spot in town center. Located just next to the Kauppatori ferry terminal. Bought a baked smoked salmon dish. Taste good. Food price is just reasonable.

We enjoyed this little outdoor market. Had a bite to eat and got some souvenirs. Good to have cash on hand.

Unfortunately, we arrived quite late at this enjoyable market. Most of the shops/ restaurants were closing. However, I could still see that food/items offered were typical, local and great.

Unfortunately most of Helsinki is closed, except hotels and some restaurants. Take a walk around city and admire Xmas lights and visit those few restaurants for hot drinks.
