There were some great options for food, including reindeer at different vendors. There is a wide range of purchases such as furs, kids toys, fruit, drinks, souvenirs, etc. It is also located on the harbour. I wouldn’t say that there is anything that you can’t...More

love all the market stores. A bit tourist-y and overpriced (as is Finland generally) but good food shops, -eat lunch with the locals

Loved this place. Enjoyed browsing through the many food stalls - try the berries and also the fish dishes (salmon, herring, etc. with potatoes and vegetables). Had fun browsing through the handicrafts and souvenirs as well! And of course, many people relaxing by the seafront.

Great market area on the harbour to collect souveniers and items such as leather goods, Scandinavian momentos and a wide variety of snack foods. Still remember the roasting salmon even now.

Another fine market in this lovely city. Lots of stalls selling fresh local produce along with souvenirs. Very busy so go early if you can.

I sampled the salmon soup, and bought many touristic gifts for friends back home. A very nice place to visit, and very central.

Unfortunately most of Helsinki is closed, except hotels and some restaurants. Take a walk around city and admire Xmas lights and visit those few restaurants for hot drinks.

I expect Market Square shopkeepers try to keep their shops open also on Sundays (from 10 to 17) over the summer, as they know there are a lot of potential customers around. The nearby Old Market Hall (Vanha Kauppahalli) is... More
