Standing next to the sea and in the centre of the open market, this monument catches the eye. In the backdrop, the Upenskin Cathedral adds to the grandeur of this pillar.

The Czarina stone is just an obelisk with a golden statue of a two headed beard. It stands in the market square. However, I am still wondering about its history as there was nothing indicating why it took its name.

It's on the market square in the front of the city hall. It's a kind of obelisk with two headed golden bird on the top of it

Located in the middle of the harbour square, this monument to czar Nicholas's wife is a focal point. However if there is a market on it is difficult to locate with stalls, lorries and the like around. Be persistent, keep looking!

A central spot in Helsinki. For me it was the place where to come back from every single tour of the city! Central and nice, a perfect welcome to the city!
