I walked up through the park from the harbour at night and there were some nice sculptures and Christmas lights. There were lots of people about and some nice stalls at the harbour end.

This is a nice long narrow park from harbour up to the main department store (Stockmans) Lots of sculpture and statues with gardens and plenty of benches to sit. There are restaurants and cafes both in and along the parallel streets. We came across some young medics either rehearsing or exercising so it is well used by locals and visitors... More

This long park sits between the main shopping streets and is a pretty boulevard which I imagine must be very nice in the summer months to enjoy the green spaces in the city.

It was cold 2C when i was there in mid October. People were still crowdibg this space. Most just walk through to the Old City Square Market. The ground in the middle path between the trees seemed to be sandy, not paved. It should be a good place to be in anytime when temp is not less than 10.

Espa, like we finnish call it, is the heart of the City. If you come by boat, rain or jet, it is nearby. It is the place where local City-peole are enjoying themselves with picnic. It begins from the main road of the Helsinki and you can follow it to the seaside and take a ferry to, hmm, for example... More

Very beautiful park just in the City Center. We had a pleasant walk through the park and then found Ben and Jerries and had sökme delicious ice cream. You will not regret your visit to the park.

This is a brilliant place t stroll around and hang out with the locals. It's a small park, starting near the Havis Amanda fountain/Market square. It's pretty busy, but there are loads of benches and places to sit and enjoy some people watching while enjoying your coffee and goodies you have picked up from at the market. Keep an eye... More

Regardless of whether the weather is good or not, this is one of the must-dos in Helsinki. On the one. A suggestion is to walk through the park beginning from the Swedish theatre all the way to the water. Come back up again following Pohjoisesplanadi where you'll see some of the more upscale restaurants, Hotel (Kamp) and shopping (Arabia, Louis... More

We spent about 2 hours walking the water front...and admiring the wonderful foods and treasures in the market. Many of the souvenirs are actually made by craftsmen in the area......not in China.

Walking the esplanade is a must for anyone visiting Helsinki. Great cafes & restaurants and high end stores on both sides of the park. Be sure to stop for a traditional Finnish coffee and local desserts at one of the orange tents in the Kauppatori.
