The permanent collection of this museum is well worth viewing. It was eye-opening to see the high quality of the art from Finland's artists of the past 150 years. The collection also contains some masterpieces by French and German artists as well.

This is a first rate gallery. Obviously it contains many examples from the golden age of Finnish art (roughly 1880-1910) but also some excellent examples of contemporaries operating elsewhere in Europe, some very curiously identified (Pablo Picasso was definitely NOT French). There is a fascinating...More

At present, located on the 3rd floor, there is a marvellous exhibition displaying the work of Alvar Aalto. On the other floors, you can view some magnificent Finnish art. Even the building itself, is worth the visit! Located near to Central Station.

I particularly enjoyed works by Unta Pusa and Vilho Lampi. There is a single room with some more international works also worth a visit. When I visited the top floor was dedicated to the collection of a Finnish schoolteacher that had lots of interesting works.
