We went on a food-tasting tour in Helsinki, and our guide took us to the Old Market first. We had so much fun just looking at the many stalls, and we were able to taste a number of fish and cheese items along the way. There are several places where you can sit down to eat (our guide recommended the... More

For a fairly small market this really does pack a lot in. Double-isled and lined with food stall and cafes, this is a great place to browse and sample Finnish cuisine..reindeer products and all. Cheery stall holders, good snacks and the usual high standard of Finnish coffee. Not to be missed!

Grab a sandwich here, or get a lunch with proper soup and salad. Multiple options. Excellent quality. Don't be put off by the smallish size of the building from the outside, it is actually quite roomy inside. Might be crowded on a weekend. Good value. A must-visit place if you're in Helsinki for the first time, and a must-eat place... More

Great place to be. Try local food and sweets. Perfect for lunch and a coffee during the day. Try to walk through.

Just beware that it gets really crowded especially on wet days. A really good range of local food and excellent coffee.

The building will attract and intrigue from outside yet what is inside will make the difference as it yields memories of the markets of your childhood maybe not architecturally but with the sense of place. The market stalls, bars/cafes fish counters with huge varieties of fish and various local products are worth the browse, you will buy something for sure... More

Following a lost taxi ride to this stop, we were so pleased to have visited here. Excellent fresh produce, home items, coffee shops. Have a lovely soup at the soup sellers bar fro Euro9 with bread.

Filled with stalls selling meat, wine, cheese, vegetables, prepared food as well local handicrafts and souvenirs. Browse and sample the local specialties in one of the cafes.

You must go to this place before noon. This hall is full of high-quality and typical food, and you can have a seat and eat there. There are also one Japanese and one Italian place within. Some days (we went there on friday), a flee market is setting in the front place, and this was great: we bought nice vintage... More
