This museum tells the story of Suomenlinna from its earliest days up to the present. The highlight is a 25 minute film explaining it's history that runs every 30 minutes. A small modern well maintained museum with a few exhibits of interest and a gift...More

The movie at the Suomenlinna gives an excellent condensed history of the islands. Definitely worth seeing the museum and movie before you start around the fortress. Makes your walk come to life after seeing and hearing the film. Museum itself is full of artifacts from...More

We found this museum to be small but worth seeing. It gives some good historical background on the fort and Helsinki, and contains some interesting artifacts. Definitely worth a stop during a visit to the island.

The museum has a lot of artefacts and displays outlining the history. The cafe and shop adjoining the museum are a good stop to rest one’s feet.

Good film. Well explained history of the fortress and main characters. Enjoyed the photo exhibition upstairs and profiles of island residents.

This place had really interesting stories to tell. I had no idea how important Suomenlinna was for the development of Helsinki. The museum includes a lot of information about the history of Suomenlinna, also some props and a 25 min presentation about Suomenlinna. You get...More

Small museum but ok, the part about construction I found boring which is the half of the museum. The other part was nice.
