Icelandic horses are wonderful. They're my favourite. Riding them in Iceland was the best! Our guide Julia was great. We walked, trotted, tølted and cantered in the lovely natural area around Polar Hestar. Recommended for any riding fanatics (not weighing more than 80kg).

A friend took me on a first riding trip with Polar Hestar and yes, in the beginning I did have my doubts if I would "survive" the trip. Well, I did survive it - and even more: I had so much fun that I was...More

The whole journey is well-organized.The instructor let us try trot, tölt and gallop with comfortable intervals. We are properly challenged, but feel safe all the way. On the way, we also had a nice farmland view and met closely with cows and sheeps. After the...More

We took a 2 hour trail ride from 10-12 and in typical Icelandic fashion, it rained! Despite the rain, it was a beautiful ride. If you don't have your own rain gear, they have some you can borrow. The horses were so sweet and the...More

They also are very quick to reply to emails as well. I think it was $40-$60 for both my mom and I to do a two hour ride. This also included coffee/tea/cookies afterward.
