Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this turf house on July 24. Our guide explained the significance of the home (for pastor of the adjacent church and his wife). It was fascinating to go from room to room and see how they lived. GREAT, interesting visit....More

Amazing place to see -the house is really interesting and unusual. Make sure you don't miss out the last part of the ground floor at the end as the exit is on the first floor.

Worth the stop to see how these old turf houses were built and lived in. Great scenery. The drive, about 30 minutes from Akureyri, is beautiful and makes the trip even better. We spent about an hour touring the place. Very nice gift shop.

This farmhouse is an excellent example of how Icelanders used to build their houses, although this one is larger and richer than normally. It gives excellent examples of life as it was about 100 years ago.

We stopped at the Laufas Folk Museum turf house on a tour. We had an amazing glimpse of how people lived during the 17th century. There were not many windows and the house seemed to go on and on. I just don't know if I...More

We went with Celebrity and took a private tour so cannot help you specifically. There is more than one location of 'turfed houses' . If you want to visit these particular ones you will need to contact RCI. Enjoy your trip... More

The Farmhouse is a car ride away from the ships docking area . You would have to book a private trip or use a local taxi company .
