After a lot of walking, we needed a place to rest and also some WiFI to decide where to go next. We found the library by pure chance thinking it was a museum or gallery by the very modern look of it from the outside. Turns out, there is an art/photo exhibit on the 6th floor which we had a... More

Stopped in the library to fill out some post cards and ended up staying awhile. They had a John Lennon tribute book to write your sentiments. This will be opened in the future so that was kind of cool.

FREE exhibition at the library. A good exhibition on when we visited, but also has a rolling slide-show (goes on for AGES!) recording the people and places of Iceland. This provides an admirable societal insight into the country and people. Magic!

Nice library, helpful staff, and photography museum on top floor with interesting, quality exhibits. Current exhibit was on Portraits by Hasselblad Award Winners. Good rainy weather place to go to. Scenic view of city from top floor.

Very nicely put-together. Helpful folks. Neat photography exhibit on the upper floor. Worthwhile, especially on a cruddy weather day.

We were told by a librarian from a used book store to visit the library to find out the history of my husband 's descendants. The staff were very helpful.

The day before we arrived in Reykjavik, after 8 days of hiking and driving, I googled "Things to do in Reykjavik" and discovered the library had a film on Iceland and a walking tour of crime scenes in fact and fiction that were free and open to the public on Thursdays. What a great activity. The library is spacious and... More

Had to go in here to check in online and print boarding passes. The staff were fantastic!!! So helpful and considerate. They seem to have many walks and talks for tourists and locals alike. I'd recommend calling in for a browse.

As a HUGE book nerd, I love libraries, but rarely visit them on vacation, unless they are of note (e.g.; Seattle). I wandered in here by accident, as it also happens to house the Reykjavik Museum of Photography, which I was looking for. The 'museum' is simply the 6th story of the building and had an excellent exhibit on the... More
