The exhibition Points of View at the Culture House takes guests on a journey through the Icelandic visual world of past and present. Artifacts and works of art from the varied collections of six institutions provide a reflection of Iceland's visual art history and cultural heritage. Artists with different backgrounds and living conditions have expressed similar ideas at all times. There are seven points of view to be found in as many wings of the Culture House, connecting what you'll see, independent from the medium or time.

It will take a couple of hours to wander through the various exhibits--some religious, some historic, some about volcanoes, some featuring various artists. It helped give me a sense of Iceland's culture and history.

A very fresh look at centuries of Icelandic culture displayed with wit and all the inventiveness of a contemporary gallery show.

It was a treat to see the old manuscripts, but there are not many displays to see, as well our travel guide referred to the exibiton as free of charge, but meanwhile, there is a small charge.

On a very wet and unbelievably windy day we retreated to the Culture House for comfort and its a good place to visit. Its on 4 floors and they have arranged the exhibits and art work very well. Take your time and read the english translations.

the building is early-20th century and beautifully restored. The exhibits include an array of paintings, photographs, and decorative elements that combine to explain alot about Icelandic history and culture. The explanations on the walls are clear and plentiful and the guides stationed around the building are well versed and enthusiastic. well worth it.

This museum is a multi-floor experience, providing points of view from various artists. There is artwork, physical historical documents, and more! The architecture of the building is beautiful. It is very clean and fit for all ages. There is an entrance fee.

I visited this museum with my Reykjavik City Card, which gives free admission to museums and inclusive bus travel for 1, 2 or 3 days. The individual cost is 15000 ISK, but worth it! I spent nearly two hours here, and could have spent more. It was my second favourite museum, next to the Open Air Museum at Arbaejarsfan.

I went here specifically to see the medieval illuminated manuscripts, and I was not disappointed. There are, however, a lot of other items that really showcase the Icelandic viewpoint, which can be very weird and quirky - definitely not your standard history/art museum! I happened to arrive early one morning right after they opened, and they had a free tour... More

Such special attention from staff---especially Anna made our visit pertaining to textiles a highlight of our week. We missed The Pattern Book without Anna's wisdom. And the link to the Icelandic 5000 kroner was fabulous. See photo. Women in Iceland have long been recognized👏🏻. Go before thousands more tourists overcrowd everything.
