The exhibition Points of View at the Culture House takes guests on a journey through the Icelandic visual world of past and present. Artifacts and works of art from the varied collections of six institutions provide a reflection of Iceland's visual art history and cultural heritage. Artists with different backgrounds and living conditions have expressed similar ideas at all times. There are seven points of view to be found in as many wings of the Culture House, connecting what you'll see, independent from the medium or time.

This museum focus on the culture of Iceland and does a good job. Excellent art and the exhibits are grouped to focus on specific elements of culture and how art expresses them. Thoughtful.

Whether your interests are in Icelandic history, art, literature or culture, this exhibit has much to offer. There is also a nice cafe for lunch or a snack.

Being a huge museum buff, I was open-minded going into the Culture House. I had also read that a stuffed Great Auk was on display and I was looking forward to seeing that. The museum was several floors. We were instructed to start from the...More

It is a museum with many different artworks and relics. It is organized by themes. It provides an impression of how unexpectedly complex and deep the Icelandic culture is. However, it is not a comprehensive account of Icelandic history, it rather offers a view of...More

This was my favorite gallery/museum experience in Reykjavik. The Points of View exhibit was really engaging, and the accompanying written commentary was thought provoking. I enjoyed the variety of Icelandic art on display, from needlework to photographs to paintings, from many different historical periods. Finding...More

Better to go to the National Museum instead. Of course you can see both on the same day with one admission.

We had already seen several exhibits in the city and this one was one of the best. We were left scratching our heads after leaving so early of the art exhibits, but the Points of View exhibit really tied together the people, culture, and land...More
