Dating back to the 18th century, this is a lovely theater, where we were schedule to watch a show, but it was cancelled and no tour of the theater was available. Still, the theater looks lovely both from the inside and out.

This fascinating early 18th century theatre (said to be the third oldest working theatre in Europe) is quite an architectural gem. We decided to take a tour and for €5, we were provided with audio guides that talked us through the museum displays, starting with the history and the plans for the building, old hand bills and theatre notices, original... Really small theatre, €5 for a tour with a headset, not worth it unless you've run out of things to see in Valletta

Already in 1731 there was this theater. Unfortunately there are very few performances, but the little theater - only 623 seats is wonderful. Golden painted, nice boxes and very good accustic.

Attended a pantomine with my family. Lovely experuence overall. Location is in the heart of Valletta, not difficult to find. Park lighting and setup was really good. The downside is that seating is a bit crammed. I am 183cm tall and my legs were all the time touching the seat in front if me. Apart from that, the quality of... More

The Manoel Theatre is Malta's National Theatreand the oldest one in the Commonwealth. It has picturesque architecture. It is a must to visit for anyone who visits Malta especially if they are theatre lovers

This is an hour spent in heaven, whether you are a theatre buff like me or not. A tiny gem, just 600 seats and so much history. Like all theatres these days, it's hanging on financially by its finger tips, but it's trying so hard to be relevant in a digital, short attention span world. Our brilliant guide enthused us... The information area was interesting but what really made it a very special visit was the fact there was a rehearsal of a youth orchestra going on. Sat in the stalls having tramped round Valetta and listened to Verdi and Mozart in a wonderful old theatre. Also it gave a good insight into the work that goes on before a... More
