On a very pretty square that is definitely worth strolling through, the statue itself is not particularly remarkable. Most people won’t know who Grand Duchess Charlotte was without Google and it’s more interesting when statues go to people who have made something of themselves, not...More

Easily pass by this place, the city center is old and beautiful, maintenance of the infrastructure is always immaculately done. a pleasant walk-by.

As you walk around the pint-sized government centre this is one of the more attractive features. Definitely a charming statue so perhaps the locals held their long-term Duchess in some regards. Makes a rather nice feature with a number of Luxembourg flags in the background.

Not far from the Palais Grand Ducal, stands the monument to Grand Duchess Charlotte. In Claire Fontaine Plaza, it commemorates the rule of the famous Dutchess from 1919-1964. Since Luxembourg City is a walkable city, you can pass by in your journey thru the city.

The long reigning Grande Duchess Charlotte was revered by the Luxembourg people and this rather modernist statue was erected in her honour. The statue is located in a small square just around the corner from Place Guillaume II.
