The fort you can't skip while in Larnaka

If you are staying around the Finikoudes beach, this fort is a place which you can't skip, as it is located at the end of the Finikoudes promenade.

This ancient Turkish Fort is right on the sea front in Larnaka. Steeped in history and very well preserved. Low entry fee too.

Whilst there is not much here inside there are some interesting bits relating to the byzantine period and it is close to the beach and some pleasant lunchtime restaurants.

CONCLUSION: a MUST SEE while on holiday or for business in Larnaca. The building complex, the cannons... everything is "dripping" many centuries of history. PRICE: € 2.5 per person

After a disappointing walk along the prom we came to the castle. A complete contrast, it was lovely, clean and lots to see even its own museum. When we visited it was set up for a wedding - lovely.

The history of the castle is stunning but with the only information to contextualise what you can see in one room and then another with artefacts, it feels disappointing. The grounds and views are beautiful but it would benefit from a narrative so visitors can learn and understand what they're viewing. Priced at €2.50 per person, you don't feel ripped... More

The best time to visit (18:00) an hour before closing , when sun is half way down and the photos comes best . it's a little castle but worth a visit for 2.5 eur fee הטירה נחמדה מאוד ודומה לעכו העתיקה , הדבר היחיד שצריך להזהר עם ילדים בעליה לקומה השניה מאחר והחומה נמוכה ואין מעקות בטיחות

Do not expect too much, it's rather small but interesting and offers some pretty good views and photo opportunities. It's also nicely maintained.

Small, interesting, in the heart of the city, with a small museum and a are on top of the walls where you can see the sea and the big seashore. Clean area, helpful stuff and a leaflet with information.
