We enjoued our visit to the Museum. Based on other reviews, we focused our visit on the items we were most interested in. The krippen exhibit is very local and excellent. We loved the arms display. And the Art Nouveau glass was wonderful. The folk...More

This really is an amazing museum but unless you have all day, you need to be disclipined! There are four floors of activities and it was really quite quiet. If you are over 60 it is free! There is a nice restaurant with great views...More

This is quite an extensive museum and art gallery that we enjoyed very much. As others have pointed out, it is hard to navigate (even toilets are quite hard to find). But we found the staff friendly. Just make sure you leave enough time! By...More

You won't know where to go first here. Should you start with the extensive folk art section? The military weapons? The musical instruments? The coins? There's a technology area, several rooms full of beautiful and intricate furniture/glassware/utensils, and a section with religious art, as well....More

Made the mistake of visiting at 3pm and only having 2 hours to look around. This was not enough time as it's huge! Each room was so interesting with lots of beautiful paintings, furniture and decorative arts. The natural history level was amazing with its...More

Spent a full day here wandering through comprehensive and varied exhibits about Upper Austria. Well presented but often only in German, the exhibits had a lot to offer. The views from the museum are also pretty and the walk around it is worthwhile.

A museum (unless it is a specific single use one) should have a variety of exhibits. This one has. Excellent displays, paintings and objects, and the views over the river are first class.
