Beautiful architecture. I love the roof with the iron chandeliers. Absolutely beautiful. Also looks very romantic with the shadows and the light. At quarter past the hour you can watch outside water coming out of the mouths of the Gargoyles. Just beautiful to stroll around...More

Wonderfully maintained and fascinating architecture. Of particular interest is the memorial to Blessed Franz Jägetstätter, who defied the Nazis and was executed. Entrance is free, but consider dropping some coin in the donation box to help maintain this landmark.

Very nice building from outside as well as from the inside. It's worth a visit, especially as it is free.

Similar to St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna. Technically not as tall, but essentially the same height when you include the cross at the top of the spire. Very beautiful cathedral.

I found myself drawn to the cathedral twice while visiting Linz. Once in the evening I found myself emotionally overwhelmed by it's beauty and serenity. The second time was a peaceful stroll admiring all of its beauty and grandeur. Definitely worth a visit.

The cathedral was started in 1862 and finished in 1924. The bell tower stands at 134.7 metres. (A higher spire was not approved, because, at the time, no building was allowed to be taller than the South Tower of the St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna)....More

It’s a huge church and stands out from wherever you look in Linz but it’s a rather new church. Easily accessible from tram.

This is a Neo Gothic church, begun in 1862 and completed in 1924, in a modern version of a glorious 800 year old style. You may ask 'Why', as I did. The answer is interesting if disheartening. It was built to be bigger than Vienna's...More
